Library Media Center

Welcome to the Faucett-Vestavia Elementary School Library!

Our mission is to encourage students to develop a lifelong love of reading and technology so they will become confident, responsible, and effective leaders in our school and community.

Faucett-Vestavia Library Policies

Kindergarteners will start out with one book each week and increase throughout the course of the school year. First through fifth graders may check out five books for the week.

Students will check out one day per week during their class "library lesson." Students who are absent on their library day will check out another day that is convenient for both the teacher and librarian.

Meet Mrs. Dickens

My name is Christina Dickens, and I am the library media specialist at Faucett-Vestavia. This is my 18th year in education and my eighth year as a library media specialist at Faucett-Vestavia. I have taught reading in some capacity my entire career in education.  I am passionate about teaching children to read and to develop a love of reading at an early age.

I am certified to teach English and social studies and have a Masters Degree in Library Media with a library media PreK-12 teaching certificate.

My husband Daniel is also an educator, and we share many of the same passions about children and learning.  We have three sons, Alex, Bryce, and Caleb and two daughters, Amily and April. We currently live in Northport and love being a part of this community.
